AO CHALOKLAM               Click to go BACK or click for HOME Ao Chaloklam can be reached by road from Thong Sala, and taxis do the journey regularly for about 40 baht per person. It is a good place to hire boats for explorations of the northern coast as many fisherman dock here (particularly from February to September). During this season, boats run regularly from here to Hat Khuat (Bottle Beach) twice a day for about 30 baht per person. On some days the service may be cancelled due to high surf. With saying this, there is a steep walking trail that leads from the eastern side of Ao Chaloklam Bay through to Hat Khuat but no motorcycles or cars can pas through here. The fishing village at the centre of Ao Chaloklam has many small grocery stores, and you can also hire bikes and diving equipment here aswell as going scuba diving if you want. There are also some restaurants and a few inexpensive noodle stalls around.
